Going out shopping with a baby by yourself can be stressful. Ideally, having an extra pair of hands to help with driving or carrying groceries is the best but sometimes we just don’t have the luxury due to our busy lives. Here are some ways that I’ve found out to make your shopping routine just a little bit easier.

Be Prepared

Just like any outing, it always good to be prepared. Whenever I go out, I pack not only extra clothes and pacifiers but also extra pairs of PETPET® Tape / Pants Diapers, wet wipes, and a changing mat in case my little one makes a mess. If your baby is on formula, prepare an extra bottle of milk.

Choose the Right Time

I find that the best time to bring my baby out would be when he is about to take a nap. This could be right after feeding time, or close to his morning/afternoon nap. That way my baby will be less cranky and fussy during shopping, or he will sleep all the way while I do my shopping. . This is especially true when he is wearing a pair of PETPET® Tape Diapers!

Park Strategically

If you’re going to a supermarket or neighbourhood shopping centre, keep an eye out for special parking bays for women, mothers, and families. Usually these parking spots are located closer to the entrance or have more space. Another suggestion is to park near the shopping carts corral; I don’t waste time putting away the cart once I’m done shopping.

Wear Your Baby

Baby slings and carriers are a great way to carry your baby around while leaving your hands free for grocery shopping. I love to keep my baby close to my bosom, which makes him less fussy and cranky.

Use a Cart Cover

If your baby can sit up, consider getting a portable cart cover to place over the shopping cart baby seat. This not only makes it more sanitary for baby but makes their shopping experience more fun and comfortable. Some cart covers even come with attached toys to keep their attention.
